Contents of research
Safety and Security
We conduct research and development of information infrastructure that is indispensable for diverse people to live safely and securely, including the development of interfaces that is friendly to the elderly and physically challenged, the development of high-quality software to be installed in rockets and satellites, and the design of secure networks that do not allow unauthorized access.

Efficiency
We conduct research and development of information processing that support higher intellectual activities and more efficient social infrastructures, such as designing quick and energy-efficient logistics and power transmission networks, eliminating traffic jam by controlling traffic signals, effectively utilizing public opinion, elucidating and engineering the neural network of the brain, and real-time processing of big data.

To enrich people’s lives
We are engaged in research and development of information processing that enrich people’s lives while making full use of the latest AI and machine learning, such as rapid and error-free medical diagnosis, high-quality speech synthesis used in various situations, interfaces to support city walking and sports, and personalized learning guidance for individual students.

To enrich society
We are engaged in research for creating new intellectual values that contribute to society, such as high-speed and high-definition simulation technology used in the design of fuel-efficient automobiles; image processing technology that automatically generates textile design for clothing essential part of people’s lives; and smart sensor network technology that realize large farms with a small number of workers.
